The Summer of 2013 will bring two exciting trips for middle and high school students! Registration forms will be out soon; we’ll post when they are available and you will be able to pick one up at LOPC or print one on the Mission Trip page. For the moment we are excited to plan the projects for this summer!
Middle School Returns to New Mexico
In late June, graduated 6th-8th graders will return to Crownpoint, New Mexico to continue working with the people of the Navajo Reservation. Middle school again gets to fly and the dates will be approximately June 23-29 (dates could shift a day on either end depending on airfare rates). Last year’s trip was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return to visit this amazing community. Photos from last year’s trip can be seen here.
High School to New York for Hurricane Sandy Relief
After Superstorm Sandy devastated many parts of the East Coast, we will be heading out to provide help during the rebuilding and recovery efforts. Our work will primarily be in the Rockaway Beach area, in Queens just outside Manhattan. The trip dates will be approximately July 27 – August 3 (sometimes dates shift a day or two depending on airfare rates). You can take a look at the overview video right here:
