New Mexico – Day 2

We are about to head out to our first day of work in New Mexico!

Last night we had a chance to meet Herman, a local community leader, who talked a bit about the Navajo people, taught us a few words in Navajo, and explained some of the history of Crownpoint.

Afterwards, Herman’s wife, oldest daughter and a couple other people sang for us in Navajo – a great experience and something we were able to clap along with (hopefully we didn’t throw off the guitar player).

As a side note, I am used to dragging students out of bed but today they were up an hour early. I’m not sure which one is worse.

We’ll check in again soon!

  • Looks like an incredible experience! Thank you Zach & Brie for planning this trip!
