After a very long non stop flight from San Francisco to Singapore, we had a couple of hours layover. And then hopped on another plane from Singapore to Visakhapatnam, India. The city is also referred to as Vizag for short. Other than the usual turbulence, the flights were uneventful and we slept, played trivia, watched movies, read books and ate food!
Once we arrived at the Vizag airport, we went through immigration and collected all our bags. Praise God that all of our bags made it all the way here!
We were warmly received by Anand & Rosie Thandu and our very own Ginny Ross who had travelled couple of days earlier to coordinate things here.
Here is the whole group:
Our luggage was loaded onto small trucks:
While we were loaded on a couple of buses to go to the Best Western Hotel
Keris addressed the group and gave room assignments and other instructions:
We checked in to our rooms and are crashing for the day…
Breakfast will be served between 7 and 10:30 am tomorrow morning (technically today because it is 1:45 am on Monday here).
We will have a relaxed morning and will leave the hotel at noon tomorrow to go and meet the kids at the orphanage.
