On Tuesday, Team 1 (Leaders Michele & Chris) spent the morning at St. Mary’s Church sorting and bagging food for their grocery program, which serves seniors in need. They then went to Grace Cathedral, where they walked a labyrinth while praying for the people and organizations they have served with this week.

Team 2 (Leaders Jaime & Slade) sorted and portioned produce in preparation for distribution to families in need at the Alameda Food Bank. At the end of the day, they had prepared 776 pounds of cabbage, 1,797 pounds of celery, 3,767 pounds of zucchini, 6,996 pounds of onions, and 14,632 pounds of apples for a grand total of 30,753 pounds! This is the equivalent of over 25,500 meals for the community. Great work!

Team 3 (Leaders Keris & Jeremy) had a blast at the Village Project, a day camp for kids at St. John Coltrane Church. The youth read stories and played games with the children and even hosted a birthday party! The group also took a short break to visit Lands End for lunch. All teams wrapped up the day with dinner at Gyro King Mediterranean Restaurant and a debrief of the day’s experiences at Aquatic Park.
