Armour of Light
46″ W x 34″ H x 1.5″ deep
Oil, cold wax, metallic dust (glitter)
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds us of our own salvation and our daily pledge to honor God. I chose Romans 13:12 because in it Paul reminds us to “lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the Armour of light.” By living daily in His light, HIs truth and power will inspire, comfort, and protect us from the darkness.

Awakening
5’6” x 2’6”
Oak branches, Pyracantha branches, paper, ribbon, nylon line
Resurrection:
Rebirth, restoration, renewal, awakening.
A Do-over.
Through the pain, suffering, and blood of Christ we are given the opportunity to start over, start fresh, be freed from our sins and mistakes of the past.
These words from the Bible offer encouragement, hope, and eternal truths for everyone, but especially for those facing personal challenges, for those needing to change the path of their lives, for those facing addiction or any earthly thing that is holding them captive, preventing them from becoming the person that God intended them to be.
I hope these specially chosen verses will give you courage and help you through difficult times and transitions.

Can You See Me?
12 x 12 inches
Oil painting
For me, the season of spring is filled with hope and with faith. It is probably no coincidence that we celebrate Christ’s resurrection at this time. The small cross in the hillside is to remind us to feel the love and to give gratitude to Christ’s eternal presence during this season, and throughout the year.

Dawn
16 x 20 inch canvas
Medium: Oil
This painting depicts the empty tomb on Easter morning. I wanted to capture the idea of light coming back into the world after the days of darkness, fear, and uncertainty that followed the crucifixion.

The painting has a resurrection feel to it and the connection with nature and localness is very important to me in this unbalanced time.

God Searching
30 x 40 inches
Acrylic paint on canvas
God searches for you, even if you don’t search for Him. God loves you, even if you have forgotten Him. God looks for beauty in you, even if you think you have uselessly squandered all your talents. – Pope Francis
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
This painting depicts God, The Trinity, represented by three doves. He has no ego, but is always searching outward to reach us because He loved us so much that He sent His one and only Son, Jesus. The painting depicts people as inwardly focused entities, selfishly looking inward. But when we can break away from our introspections, He is there, waiting to meet us. That is what the Resurrection accomplished.

Poppies

After winter’s darkness, these outrageously colorful creations emerge from the earth, a little like a resurrection. As they open into the sun, they glorify the jubilation of creation and new life. At least to me. New Poppies always give me a joyful sigh.

Renewing the Face of the Earth
20” x 16”
Watercolor and graphite
As I walk through the hills in early spring I am struck by the new life sprouting from the earth. Green shoots rise up between decaying foliage. The rich colors of decomposition are the background to new life. My piece is an ode to the whispers of resurrection at our feet. The white silhouettes of greenery mark life that will pass through death into spring glory.

Resurrection Joy
12” x 30”
Acrylic on canvas
I painted this to portray the exquisite moment of discovering the risen Christ — either in our lives today, or 2000 years ago at the empty tomb, or in our lives to come. The energy flow might be sheer joy, or awed worship, or God’s Spirit breathing life into us, or our delighted response. I’d like the viewer to interpret this painting as he or she experiences it.
