THE ROLE OF PEOPLE OF FAITH IN HEALING OUR COMMUNITIES

SATURDAY APRIL 14, 2018 • 12:30 P.M.

In our current social climate, we are constantly reminded of the divisions among people and even encouraged to view others as threats to our own well being. In such a time as these, how can we recognize and advocate for the common humanity that connects all people to one another?

Join the Rev. Sandhya Jha (pastor, director of the Oakland Peace Center, author, community organizer, and anti-racism trainer) to reflect on root causes of racism and the spiritual tools we can access to confront the systems that hurt some and benefit others.During our four hours together, we’ll look at some terms that will help us develop shared language around racial justice, examine how our faith can strengthen our work to address divisions in our community, and discuss the possibilities for concrete action by people of faith.

Please RSVP to dave@lopc.org by April 9, 2018.

Rev. Sandhya will also be preaching at LOPC on April 8, 2018.
