It happens in more families than we imagine. Parents estranged from their adult children, siblings estranged from other siblings. Dr. Joshua Coleman, a psychologist in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, author and sought-after speaker, will share insights and strategies in dealing with family estrangement. Dr. Coleman has been featured on PBS, 20/20, and Good Morning America, and has also been featured on Sesame Street. He is the author of several books, including When Parents Hurt: Compassionate Strategies When You and Your Grown Child Don’t Get Along. He is the co-editor, along with historian Stephanie Coontz, of seven online volumes of Unconventional Wisdom: News You Can Use, a compendium of noteworthy research on the contemporary family, gender, sexuality, poverty, and work/family issues.
