MCC Replaces Backpack Drive with Grocery Bag Drive

August 22 Drop Off 8-10:30 AM

Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church has made supporting the backpack drive at Monument Crisis Center an annual tradition. This year with the tremendous increase in demand for food, the Center has decided to forego the backpack drive and replace it with a grocery bag drive. Each contribution will consist of a paper grocery bag filled with the following 6 items; cereal, plastic jar of peanut butter, can of tomato sauce, pasta, plastic jar of jelly, box of mac and cheese. In addition to the food, please enclose a $10 or $20 gift card to either Safeway or Target and a note of encouragement.

This special package will help families who have lost jobs and are experiencing food insecurity. Many are experiencing the added burden of feeding children that would normally be in summer school receiving both breakfast and lunch in accordance with Title 1. This is a great opportunity to help others and put your faith in action!

Contact for more information. Drop-off your bag on Saturday 8/22 from 8-10:30 AM.
