Group 1 went to the Los Angeles Mission in the morning where they started out by scrubbing the shower stalls and restrooms, prepping for lunch and creating posters for July 4th celebrations. After watching a short video about the mission, they had lunch with the guests there and cleaned up after. LA Mission is a faith based organization that meets the needs of their guests by providing food, clothing, shelter and a school program to get them back on their feet. They then went to Union Rescue Mission where they did more cleaning and also took care of childcare. This included watching a movie, painting, playing with toys, card games, etc.

Group 2 started their day at the Salvation Army site and conducted VBS. Our youth were amazing at planning and conducting the VBS and also by playing musical instruments and having a lot of fun with the kids. From there, they went to the dollar store to pick out prizes for the bingo game, which was at the Angel’s Nursing Center shortly after.

Group 3 went to Faith in Christ Ministries where they did a lot of cleaning and creating posters for the upcoming Vacation Bible School. They then went back to their Salvation Army site where they hung out with kids and had a lot of fun, which included a Zumba dance party!
All three groups came back to the base around 5 pm and dropped off out CSM hosts for their free evening, while we went to Griffith Park, had dinner and played lawn games like banana tag, spike ball, etc. We also went to the Griffith Observatory to look at the beautiful scenery  and also the night view of LA.
God has been present with us throughout this trip and we’ve had an amazing time so far. We have just one more service day left!! Please pray for us.
