For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. – Matthew 25:35

In the Community
Summer Food Boxes! This Summer help Monument Crisis Center by filling a Summer Food Box for families in need in Contra Costa County. We know that hunger does NOT take summer vacation and the Center provides food year-round. Many of MCC’s clients are at-risk families who experience added food insecurity in the summer when children aren’t in school and don’t have access to free or discounted lunch programs.
How can you help? Pick up an empty box with instructions and food list from the LOPC Ministry Center from June 3rd through June 17th. Fill the box with requested items. Deliver completed box to Monument Crisis Center by July 22nd. Drop off times will be listed in the instructions. Click here for more information!
Questions? Email Danny Scherer at firstname.lastname@example.org or Alexa Gambero at email@example.com.
Monument Crisis Center Summer Fun! MCC provides the opportunity for its client’s children to experience summer camp. To help support this effort they are asking for the following sponsorships for summer campers; bus transportation, Oakland Zoo admission for 70, t-shirts, hats & visors, beach towels and snacks. Contact Cheryl DeSimone to help at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested in helping run a summer day camp for one week? CCIH is currently putting together summer programming for kids (toddler through middle school), and we need your help. Many of these kids are formerly homeless or very low-income. In the past, volunteers (teens and adults) have organized small groups to host different “camps”. These activities take place at various housing sites (Pittsburg & Concord) for a couple hours/day for 3-5 days during the week. Some examples include: hosting a day dance camp; art camp; putting on a science camp; hosting a music camp; theater/improv; Tai Chi camp. Feel free to call and discuss ideas or just offer general help to an already formed camp week. All camps are supervised by on-site CCIH staff. Email email@example.com for more information.
