God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. —Psalm 46:1
As Christians our aim is always to respond to events in our community and our world with faith and try to help those in need. LOPC has a long history of responding generously to disasters all over the world. Through our alliance with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), World Vision International, and other partners, we have been able to contribute to disasters nationally and globally with the assurance that the funds contributed will go to help those affected. We make sure to vet our partners thoroughly and especially value the work of the PDA who commit to stay in communities and commit to long term recovery. While the disasters we have responded to have varied, we recognize that in nearly every situation money is the most versatile and helpful way to respond to an event beyond the needed skilled first responders.
COVID-19 Community Support Special Offering
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, two LOPC Mission Partners that address food insecurity Monument Crisis Center and the Contra Costa Food Bank are seeing a huge increase in demand. These two organizations are designated “Essential Businesses”, meaning that they are to remain open inspite of the shelter in place decree as they provide food for economically disadvantaged people. LOPC is doing a special offering to benefit both organizations as they attempt to meet the growing need of providing food for the most vulnerable in neighboring communities. The money collected will be split between both organizations equally.
There are three ways to give below.
