All Together! Intergenerational Worship at LOPC

Youth Sunday – August 26, 2018

Youth Sunday highlights family ministry summer programs including Vacation Bible Camp, Service Squad Daycamp, the Middle School Mission Trip and the High School Mission Trip!  Worship includes video footage of the youth programs and testimonials from teens about their mission trips.  Youth participate in hospitality, music, worship and prayer. All are encouraged to come together in worship at 9:00am and 11:00am. A children’s program is provided for infants and toddlers.

3rd Grade Bible Sunday – September 16, 2018

3rd Grade Bible is one of the family ministry milestones.  On this Sunday, we celebrate our 3rd graders who have learned about how the Bible came to be, it’s structure and how to use it in their everyday lives.  The worship service includes a Bible presentation to each 3rd grader by the children’s ministry directors. All ages participate in worship. Please join us at 9:00am and 11:00am to celebrate!  A children’s program is provided for infants and toddlers.

Christmas Eve Family Services – December 14, 2018

The Christmas Eve family services are designed to engage families and children in the meaning of the birth of Christ.  Visual storytelling, interactive prayer and Christmas music performed by the children’s choir enhance this wonderful worship celebration for all.  The family services are at 3:00pm and 4:30pm. Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers.

Palm Sunday – April 14, 2019

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week as we prepare for Easter. This worship service begins with the procession of children waving palm branches.  During the service, youth are invited to hear a children’s message about the meaning of Palm Sunday and the last days of Jesus. The children’s choir sings and parents, children and youth participate in worship at 9:00am and 11:00am. A children’s program is provided for infants and toddlers.

Confirmation Sunday – Date TBA 2019

Confirmation is another important family ministry milestone. In confirmation, youth in 8th-12th grade learn the basics of Christian faith and write their own statement of faith. On Confirmation Sunday, the teens affirm their faith to their faith community.  A video presentation highlights the faith witness of each teen.  There is also a special children’s message and all ages participate in worship at the 9:00am and 11:00am services. A children’s program is provided for infants and toddlers.
