Year round

Men with Young Families & Professionals — A men’s group for guys with young families (20-50 somethings) to connect with other guys, grow in your faith through study & service opportunities, and receive prayer. We are a come as you are, when you’re available group. If you can only join us for one gathering, that’s great! If you come to all of our offerings, awesome! Freebirds — Freebirds is a social group at LOPC for adults not constrained by kids’ schedules, whether you are a new empty nester, been freed for a while or never had kids! It is for adults looking to make a connection with other adults through shared activities such as meals, hikes, social hours and service work. Group members take turns planning the activities that are scheduled monthly from September to May. Contact Sue Nagle for more information — suenagle@sbcglobal.net

Fourth Mondays Book Club — For over 20 years, this group has been gathering monthly on fourth Mondays from 2:00PM until about 3:30PM. The group reads both fiction and non-fiction books. For the month of September, the group is reading The Wright Brothers by David McCullough and will be reading Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery in October. There are no gatherings in November and December due to holidays, but they return to gathering in January 2019. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Fourth Fridays Book Club — The Fourth Friday Book Club gathers at 4 p.m. for an hour and a half or two hours. Some of the titles the group will be reading this year is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, Elephant Company by Vicki Croke, and Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. Knit & Crochet Group — The “Chicks with Sticks” meet for fellowship and knitting/crocheting. Bring your own projects or work on projects underway for newborn babies and the homeless. Tuesdays 1:00 – 3:00 PM in Room 202. If you are interested in joining, reach out to Ellena Bloedorn – enbloe@comcast.net

Quilters — A dynamic group which joins together for fellowship and sewing. Quilters of all levels are invited. Quilts are donated to local groups which provide comfort to babies and children. Thursdays, 1-4 PM in Room 205.

Science & Religion — The Science and Religion Study Group meets monthly. Attendees are seeking to clarify their own Christian faith and the bridge between science and religion. The programs consist of noted speakers, authors, book discussions, and films. Come with an open mind! 3rd Mondays at 7 PM.

Voyagers —  These friendly and open social groups, known as “ships”, offer an opportunity to make friends and to share fun, food, fellowship and service.  There are seven ships that generally meet the third Saturday of each month.  Planned events cover a wide range of activities, including museum visits, dinners out or in homes, trips to the theater, outdoor activities, service opportunities, and much more.  Voyagers also serve the coffee on the LOPC Worship Plaza each Sunday.  The ships range in size from 25 to 70 members, and are made up of couples, and singles, 50 years and older. First Friday Forum — Popular series of six engaging monthly speakers that are relevant, timely and of interest to our entire community. 1 PM refreshments in Fellowship Hall. 1:30 PM Presentation in the Sanctuary. First Fridays of the month, January through June.

The Breakfast Group (Formerly Men’s Breakfast) — This group exists for food, Christian fellowship, and interesting speakers! The group meets on campus in the Davies Room at 7am where all are welcome and there’s a $5 suggested donation at the door for the breakfast. Register here by clicking this link.
