Programs for Children & Families
We think of ministry at LOPC as touching on five facets of faith:
. Worship, the call to honor God;
Formation, growing deeper in how God created us;
Witness, showing the love of God to the world through our words and actions;
Care, looking out for the well-being of ourselves and other; and
Community, coming together regularly as the people of God.
Our programs in Children’s Ministry are designed to incorporate these five marks in creative and intuitive ways, so that kids and families are able to learn to be alive in Christ and in the world. Our offerings include:
The Garden: Our Sunday morning worship and formation experience for children, The Garden is intentionally structured to help kids grow deep roots in the soil of faith.
Kids Rock: This Wednesday after-school program helps kids engage in spirituality, express creativity, experience physical activity, and encourage community.
Vacation Bible Camp: Kick off your summer with Vacation Bible Camp, where we ground kids in the rock-solid foundation of God’s love through songs, stories, games, experiments, and more.
Children’s Choirs: In partnership with our Music & Worship department, our Children’s Choirs train kids to be leaders in worship, the central act of the Christian community.
Sowers: This joint project between Children’s Ministry and Mission is a service-learning program designed to get families with elementary- and middle school-aged children interested in serving others.
Special Needs: LOPC is committed to welcoming every member of our community, and our Special Needs ministry supports the radical inclusion of all children in our programs.
