Regretfully, our 2018 Conference has been cancelled. Please check back here periodically for more training opportunities. LOPC is committed to raising the bar for children’s ministry in all churches in the East Bay!

Serving in children’s ministry is both a great joy and an enormous responsibility. We know that the people who lead and volunteer in these programs do it not because it’s easy, or because it makes you famous, but because it is one of the highest callings God gives us. “Let the little children come to me,” says Jesus in Mark 10, “because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” We who serve in children’s ministry strive to do that, every day, for every child.

That’s why we created the Children’s Ministry Conference: to give back to the leaders and volunteers who do so much for the children in the Bay Area. This is a place where we can come together from different churches to learn from, support, and explore this ministry with one another. We serve our kids better when we work together. This conference is for your entire ministry team, whether you’ve been serving for years or you’ll be volunteering for the first time this fall. And we’re putting it on with minimal cost to participants, because we want you to spend your budgets on your kids.

Conference General Format
There will be an opening keynote and a closing keynote to bookend your time at the conference.

Our workshops are designed to engage children’s ministry staff and volunteers on a variety of issues and levels. Whether you’re a new volunteer or a ministry veteran, you’ll find peers and mentors to learn from during our times together. You’ll have an opportunity to choose two hour-long breakouts to hone skills and learn new ideas and concepts.

Church Team Training Time
All of our churches do trainings for children’s ministry teams at the beginning of the program year. We want your ministry teams to experience the conference together without having to schedule an additional time for your own training needs, so we’re creating space and time after the conference where your team can meet, by yourselves, to talk together about your specific program needs for the coming year.

We know that many ministry staff and volunteers have families, so we will be providing childcare for the duration of the conference for the fee of $15 per registrant (not per child). This fee is non-refundable.

We know that cost can be prohibitive to attendance, and we don’t want to exclude any volunteer or church because of money.
