Head of Staff
Peter hails from San Diego, originally, and attended San Diego State University for a couple of years before transferring to the University of Colorado, Boulder. While at college, he felt a calling to serve the church, and seminary training took him to Fuller Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary for three advanced degrees, all told. He often states that being a student for life would have been an attractive career option if it were an option!
Anne and Peter have three wonderful adult children: Colleen, Evan and Aaron. In his spare time, Peter likes to read, travel and ski. His favorite place to be on vacation is still the beach, and he confesses to being an analog soul in a digital world as is reflected in his hobby of restoring vintage audio equipment and collecting vinyl albums.
Pastor Congregational Care
Gerald was called to oversee the Congregational Care Ministry of LOPC. He was drawn to LOPC by the openness and warmth of the members. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to all types of music, attending and participating in sporting events. (Go Warriors!!)
Pastor Mission and Spiritual Formation
Lauren was drawn to LOPC because of its commitment to service and depth. She says, “LOPC has been a fabulous place to experience the community of faith!” She enjoys the variety of Mission and Spiritual Formation and teasing out the connections between these two ministries to create a deeper understanding of God’s work in the world. In her free time Lauren enjoys being outdoors, gardening, spending time with her family, friends and her dog Stella!
Pastor of Family Ministries and Executive Ministry Leadership
Jaime is proud to minister to and with families at LOPC. She appreciates being part of a church community where she has the gift of supporting parents, grandparents and other adults as they nurture children and youth in their everyday lives, making faith a central part of the journey. Jaime also serves in an executive level capacity providing leadership related to church operations, planning and ministry development, in addition to serving as internal consultant to the Head of Staff. Jaime has served on numerous non-profit boards and enjoys the challenge and joy of running organizations and helping them serve their mission. She is thankful to be able to serve in this way at LOPC as well.
In her free time, you will find her hanging out with her husband, children, family and friends. Jaime loves to read, volunteer, hike and spend time at her favorite Pilates studio.
Program and Administrative Staff
Director of Community Engagement
Chris arrived at LOPC in 2014 after graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education & Formation. He was the 2014 recipient of the Arthur Paul Rech Memorial Award in Theology and Pastoral Ministry and the 2013 William Tennent Scholar for Christian Education. In June 2016, Chris was promoted to the Director of Community Engagement where he leads the membership, fellowship, connecting, small groups ministries, and assists with general pastoral support. He is currently a “Candidate” for ordination in the PC(USA). For fun, Chris enjoys being active outdoors with his wife, Carly, son, Reed, and daughter, Lyla.
Elizabeth feels blessed to have found such a caring, supportive and collaborative work environment at LOPC. She manages the administrative functions of staff in the areas of human resources, personnel policies/procedures, staff trainings/development, and her favorite…putting together fun staff connecting opportunities! Elizabeth also supports the Head of Staff with project management, annual planning, and implementing improvements for systems and processes related to Session, staff, and congregational events. She serves as recording secretary to the Session and is the staff support liaison for the Stewardship and Personnel Teams, and CNC. She also manages the workflow of the Communications Team.
When she’s not at LOPC, Elizabeth likes to spend time with her husband, two daughters, two cats and her very energetic 2-year-old black lab, Rex. She also enjoys cooking, crafting, and traveling.
Administrative Assistant Family Ministries
Michelle and her family have been a part of LOPC for many years but finally became members in the spring of 2017. She has always believed LOPC is a special place with a wonderful community. Michelle comes from a Human Resources Management background in the tech industry with a B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University and loves to continuously discover new things. The opportunity to get to know the LOPC family better was a big part of her desire to join the staff, so please stop by to say hello when you have the chance!
After temporarily retiring in 2000 to raise her twin boys, Char realized she missed her profession. She joined LOPC in 2004 when her family moved from Berkeley, and began volunteering in 2008 by helping Children’s Ministry and Worship with forecasting. Volunteering led to joining the Finance Team which led to Finance Elder and now Treasurer. She feels blessed to be able to support of all the ministries of LOPC so they can spend more time on ministry and be most efficient with every dollar they are entrusted with. In her free time, Char enjoys being with her family, cooking, yoga, skiing, being in nature, and reading.
Associate Director of Seedlings Preschool
In 1992, a friend told Bobbi about Mother’s Day Out at LOPC. She applied to be a part time assistant teacher in the toddler room and began that September. MDO soon became Seedlings and Seedlings soon became her home away from home! She taught in various classes before being promoted to Associate Director, working alongside Coleen Moulton. Together they have watched Seedlings grow into the remarkable school it is today! She feels blessed to work alongside an amazing community of colleagues she considers family. Bobbi enjoys supporting families as we grow our own humanity.
Kitchen Ministry Administrator
Terry loves to cook and organize events, so working with LOPC’s fabulous staff and congregation is heaven sent! Together with the kitchen team, she plans, cooks and serves many important annual church events and maintains LOPC’s commercial kitchen for the use of other ministries. What does she do in her free time? Cook for her family, of course!
Jon is a Bay Area native- having grown up in Campbell in the South Bay before going to school at Chico State. It was while he was in college that he met his sweetheart Melanie at a ballroom dance, and they were married in 2006. Jon is thrilled to be serving LOPC as the Communications Associate. When he isn’t at LOPC, Jon loves watching old sci-fi and classic films, reading, comic book collecting, and taking day trips around the Bay.
A/V Technician and General/Website Admin
Devin started volunteering at LOPC in 2002 as part of the Audio Team. Devin sets up, breaks down, and monitors the church’s sound and video equipment, primarily in the Sanctuary. Devin enjoys recreational writing and reading, but his preferred form of entertainment is video games.
Director of Youth Ministry
Keris came to LOPC as a member and then felt the call to serve as the Youth Director! He loves and feels it an honor to be involved in the students’ lives and working with the families. In his free time he loves to spend time with his family and play soccer.
Worship and Music Assistant
Michael is a countertenor and conductor with performance credits in the Bay Area, Orange County, and central Illinois. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Drama and Music, and a Master’s in Conducting from Eastern Illinois University. Previously, he has been the Music Director at Eden United Church of Christ, Music Teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Edward schools, and an Assistant Conductor for Chanticleer’s LAB Skills workshops. As a vocal soloist, Michael can be heard on the Pacific Mozart Ensemble album Dave Brubeck and American Poets, and performed the Abbey Road medley with Sonoma State University’s Rock Collegium in 2015. Outside of the church and art music, Michael is fervent Beatles scholar, an avid Giants fan, and enjoys exploring every tap house in the Bay Area with his wife, Katie.
Campus Maintenance and Activities Manager
Dave gives it all to God for bringing him to LOPC and for developing his skills to best serve Him. Dave oversees campus facilities and maintenance, scheduling and activities. He loves that each day is often blessed with new challenges and unique opportunities to serve this awesome community of faith. Dave’s spare time often finds him in the garden, cooking for friends, or participating in some form of musical expression.
Associate Director of Mission Ministry
Robin feels blessed to do the work she does at LOPC. She says, “Every day offers a new challenge and an opportunity to serve Christ in a tangible and meaningful way.” She loves working with her fellow staff members, people in the congregation and the community. When not at work, she enjoys hanging with family and friends, cooking and Tae Bo. Her favorite quote is from Mother Teresa: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Robin is inspired by these words in her daily work.
Lidia joined LOPC in 2005 and feels blessed to provide her financial expertise to all areas at LOPC. Her job allows her a glimpse into the wonderful work that is being done in Christ’s name. She loves to see the enthusiastic support of the congregation and it’s financial commitment to the work that LOPC does. On the weekend, she enjoys hiking with her husband & friends, hosting dinner parties, and reading.
Director of Youth Ministry
Allison was introduced to youth ministry at the age of 16 and, ever since, it’s been all about youth for her. She believes that it’s vital for youth to have adult mentors in addition to parents who believe in them, love them, and point them to God. She grew up in the bay area and moved away to attend Wheaton College, where she received my B.A. in Theological Studies. After twelve years in Chicago, she moved back to California with her husband, Rick. Allison enjoys family, animals, cooking, gaming, gardening, hiking, and eating frozen yogurt.
Lexi’s family have been a part of LOPC for many years and members since 2007. Originally from New York, she moved to the Bay Area 20 years ago and, in 2010, to Orinda with her family. Her professional background has been primarily focused on event management and fundraising, and she looks forward to using that experience here in the vast number of programs LOPC supports.
Director of Seedlings Preschool
Coleen started at LOPC as an assistant teacher in 1991. In 1995, she became director of the summer program and took over as Seedlings Director in 1999. Colleen loves the opportunities to see and interact with the children and to connect with the parents. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three daughters, Paige, Jules, and Lexi, her husband Eric, and watching sports and boating.
Associate Director of Children's Ministry
Lori came to LOPC to be a partner in ministry with the dedicated staff of this dynamic Christian community. She loves children’s ministry because it allows her to serve and support children, as well as their leaders, in their faith development and spiritual journeys. She assists with all aspects of children’s ministry, with a particular focus on volunteer development and program management. Lori is also passionate about the inclusion of children in worship. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching videos of jellyfish, hummingbirds, and jumping baby goats on Facebook.
Stewart came to LOPC for its well-developed music program. It is thrilling for him to have such a fine pipe organ to play and a congregation that loves to sing. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Music in Church Music from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. In his free time Stewart enjoys the outdoors, taking walks, exploring new places, and occasional trips up to wine country!
Worship and Music Coordinator
Hiroko and her family have lived in the area for over 23 years. In 2014 she joined the LOPC team. She believes God prepared her for this particular position and continues to be amazed and excited about His plan, orchestration, and timing. She enjoys working with a group of very talented staff, members, and volunteers. Hiroko is trained with classical ballet for most of her life and currently teaches adults by sharing her passion for this art.
Director of Worship and Music
Brett joined the LOPC staff in 2013. Prior to that he directed the choirs and served on the worship team at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. He oversees LOPC’s large and diverse worship and arts staff and volunteers, designs regular worship and special services, conducts the Chancel and Festival Choirs, and leads the vocal and instrumental chamber ensembles. Brett is often found at the piano. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Biola University and a Master of Music in Conducting from San Francisco State University. In his free time he enjoys long-distance running and spending time with his wife and three dogs.
Director of Children's Ministry
Ryan oversees all ministry with kids from birth through 4th grade. Working with children runs deep in his blood – his mom was a children’s minister, too. After finishing grad school back east, he and his wife Kathy moved to California and started ministry at LOPC in 2011. They prefer the beaches and sunshine of the west coast to the snow, ice, and sleet of the northeast. Ryan loves video games, Pixar movies, terrible fast food, and playing with his son Beckett.
Associate Director of Preschool Ministry
Susan first joined LOPC as part of the Sunday childcare team. As the Associate Director of Preschool Ministry, she oversees Sunday programs for infants through preschoolers. She strives to ensure that all children feel part of the LOPC tribe. Her favorite part of Sundays is the musical parade. She is crazy about sports and is always plotting on how HER San Francisco Giants will win their next championship.
Facilities and Database Coordinator
Colleen began attending LOPC as a student in 1999, when her father was called to serve as head of staff. After pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education, she felt called to serve the world in a different capacity. Colleen has been working at LOPC since 2013, currently working as Facilities and Database Manager. She absolutely loves working with such a gracious and talented team and would not trade her job for the world! She enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family—those that bring life to her life!
