Stephen Ministry Training

Training involves more than 80 hours of training over the course of eight months. The training is open to anyone interested in developing caring and relational skills. Becoming a commissioned Stephen Minister involves completing the training, being accepted into the program, a two year commitment to the ministry, and attending regular supervision and continuing education meetings. The LOPC Stephen Ministry team is affiliated with the national Stephen Ministry Association.

August 27 - November 20, 2010
Class meets on most Tuesday evenings and the following weekends:
Aug 27-28, Oct 8-9 and Nov 19-20
Meets at Lafayette -Orinda Presbyterian Church

Participation in the class requires submitting a written application form and an interview.  Following the interview, references will be contacted. This process may take several weeks.  Ideally participants will complete this process by mid-August. Please contact Pastor Gerald Chinen as soon as possible if you are interested.  There is a suggested  $80 fee for training materials.
