Who are We?
How are we to Live? Is Christ truely in charge of this world?
Belief has consequences. We believe there are dangers in dark places, so we avoid them. We believe we are loved, so we are sufficiently secure to take risks. Name something you believe and notice how that affects what you do, how you live. This is the major premise of the New Testament book we call Ephesians. It lays out the consequences of what we believe. It challenges us to live what we believe. Belief and action go together. The author of Ephesians knows this deep in his being and he begins where we must all begin - with what God has already done, and what we believe.
