This choral work is a textless soundscape depicting
the grief and horror surrounding the loss of a child.
The sounds convey chaotic outcries from those
who witness the tragedy and from the child himself
as he cries out to his mother.
This was performed on Good Friday,
so we added, as the child's last words,
Christ's cry on the cross:
"Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani,
My God, My God, Why have You forsaken me?"
You can hear the movements of the
Company C Contemporary Ballet
as they interpret the music through dance.
