New Members

Welcome, Prospective New Members!

The New Members Team is pleased to welcome you to LOPC and trust that you have sensed the warmth of this fellowship and the power of the Holy Spirit at work in this place.

You are invited to consider becoming a member of LOPC by attending the next New Member Class. This is a wonderful time to explore collective spiritual journeys, discover the gifts that God has given, and to deepen commitment to one's faith.

The New Member Class provides an opportunity to meet the pastoral staff, explore church membership, learn what it means to be Presbyterian, explore one's spiritual gifts, hear about the vision and ministry of LOPC, and make new friends. The intent of the New Member Class is to clarify what LOPC believes God has called this church to do and be, so visitors can make an informed decision about formalizing their commitment to this family of faith.

The Class Format
During the first session, learn what it means to be a Presbyterian and about LOPC's ministry from the pastoral staff. At the second session, explore one's spiritual gifts and ask the question, “Where am I called to serve at LOPC?” New members usually are received into the congregation at the 11 a.m. service. Childcare is available for all sessions by reservation.
