Since 1983 Loaves and Fishes serves free, hot, nutritious meals to anyone who is hungry in dining rooms located in in multiple locations throughout Contra Costa county. This year they will be serving 100,000 meals.

According to the Contra Costa Times Loaves and Fishes is one of the most cost-effective charitable organizations in the Bay Area and second only to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties in efficiency.
