The LOPC Presbyterian Women’s group provides birthday cakes to the wards in Juvenile Hall.  Their hope is to show these troubled juveniles that “The Community Cares.”  This effort is supported by the belief that by letting them know that they are not throwaway kids, they will realize their self worth and hopefully become productive members of society.  Cake bakers are always welcome to join in this effort.

In addition, for more than 30 years, Singles Ministry participants have taken dinner to a group of kids in Juvenile Hall on the first Friday each month.  They eat with them, talk and play games.  The kids and singles look forward to this dinner.  A background check is required of all participants.
