In May 2011, tornados destroyed much of Joplin, Missouri. The town and its residents continue to need help to rebuild homes and businesses. This spring and summer, LOPC will be sending  teams of volunteers to help with this reconstruction. An adult volunteer trip is planned, as well as a later trip for high school students. Volunteers with construction skills are needed, however anyone willing to pitch in is welcome to join the effort. For more information about the upcoming trips, please contact John Weems.

Hurricane Recovery Team

Since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck the Gulf Coast in 2005,  teams of volunteers  have traveled to New Orleans, McComb, MS, and Houma, LA. From clean-up, to roofing, to constructing new homes, LOPC volunteers have worked side-by-side with volunteers from other churches and Gulf Coast homeowners. People of all churches, faiths, and skill levels participated in this national  recovery effort. The LOPC Team has returned to help every year since 2005.
