CCISCO draws together the members of all faith communities in order to empower and unite them in their efforts to improve the quality of life in our communities. They believe that all faith communities are called to seek justice and peace for all people. They seek to answer this call by empowering people, building community, reducing violence, and supporting unity in diversity as they follow the congregation-based organization model.
Mission Possible Youth Advocacy Group
LOPC supports the youth from LOPC as they participate in Mission Possible Youth Advocacy Group to pursue projects that will improve the quality of life in the Lamorinda community. They work together in the following ways:
- Build a relationship with youth leaders
- Identify specific community issues youth wish to target
- Brainstorm strategies with youth to reach the goal
- Support youth as they move forward in influencing civic, community, other church, and private organizations to make Lamorinda a better place for all
- Communicate with the Mission Committee with the youth about the youth projects and enlist MIS support
- Support MIS and youth, when appropriate, to inform and seek support from the larger LOPC congregation
