Adult/Parent/Grandparent Nurture
Children’s Ministry provides a number of opportunities for families of children to participate in programs which support your parenting, help you grow in faith, and share faith with your family.
Intergenerational Worship
On the 1st Sunday of each month, as we celebrate communion, children and youth worship alongside their families and participate in worship leadership. (No Godly Play on these Sundays, but Childcare is available.)
Faith at Home
We encourage parents to demonstrate Christian love and spiritual practices on a daily basis. Every year Faith at Home schedules a speaker on the challenges of raising children as Christians in today’s increasingly more secular world. A shared meal precedes the presentation and discussion time.
Seedlings Its Board also sponsors annual speakers in this area.
Church Traditions
LOPC provides families with the opportunity to share in church traditions such as the Mount Hermon Family Retreat (1st weekend in October), Harvest Soup Supper (day before Thanksgiving); Advent Fair; Family Christmas Eve Service; Ash Wednesday-Maundy Thursday-Good Friday Service; 4th of July Parade; Annual Baseball Game; Service of Remembrance (November 1).
Building Connections
Adult Nurture also connects families with other ministry teams to participate in mission activities both local and abroad. They can experience the joy of helping and giving and grow together spiritually.
