Music is an essential element in the spiritual formation of children. Our Choir Program for Children and Youth provides spiritual nurturing for children in Pre-K through 8th grade by integrating choral music and worship leadership in the Christian tradition. Participation in choir is free and open to everyone in the community.

Sunbeams
Choir for children, ages 3-5
An introductory choir teaching children to use their vocal instrument, experience rhythm and creatively express themselves in song. Sunbeams is designed for children ready to independently participate in group activities without adult assistance. Sunbeam singers are invited to sing at seasonal church services including Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday. Children may enroll in a Friday or Sunday Sunbeams Choir. LightShine
Choir for Kindergarten - 3rd Grade
A beginning choir for children desiring an informal choral experience without a weekly rehearsal commitment. LightShine introduces children to the art of worship leadership through choral music and participation at Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday services. Regular rehearsal attendance is strongly urged, but the choir is designed for those with expected conflicts throughout the season.

Psalmsters
Choir for 1st - 3rd Grade
An intermediate choir for children interested in learning more complex music and the foundations of part singing. Choristers learn proper vocal techniques while preparing anthems for Sunday morning worship, 3-4 times a year, and Christmas Eve and Palm Sunday services. Psalmsters must be able to make a reliable commitment to weekly rehearsals from September-April.

Youth Choirs

Cantemus
Choir for 4th - 8th Grade
A choir for children and youth who can sing a melody and are ready to learn harmony and part singing. Cantemus requires a steadfast and reliable commitment to Sunday rehearsals as singers prepare to participate in monthly worship services, LOPC Christmas Concerts, Christmas Eve services, music festivals and other special worship events.

GodsGroove

Seasonal Choir for 4th - 8th Grade
A choir for children and youth who would like to sing at church festival events with a short-term rehearsal commitment. GodsGroove meets seasonally in preparation for the Christmas season and Holy Week.
