| Artists Vocal Ensemble (AVE)
This critically-acclaimed professional choral ensemble, under the direction of Jonathan Dimmock and in collaboration with The WholeNoyse (the Bay Area's best Renaissance wind band) presents a concert of music entitled 1508 at LOPC February 24 at 5:30 p.m.
Looking back 500 years to the music of Pre-Reformation Germany, the concert will include music by Josquin and Isaac from his monumental Choralis Constantinus, the first musical anthology of polyphonic music for the propers of the mass (commissioned in 1508 -- the same year as the commissioning of the Sistine Chapel ceiling).
Underlying this musical performance, AVE always seeks to tie the arts with social awareness. This will be a green concert and will underscore the great work of Earth Island Institute, a Bay area organization with a global reach (www.earthisland.org).
Tickets ($25 general, $10 students and seniors) are available online at www.ave-music.org/ on the worship plaza 2/17 or 2/24, at the church offiice, or at the door.
