Presbyterian Women at LOPC Presbyterian Women (PW) is the national women's organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). With a history of more than 200 years, PW is committed to nurturing faith, supporting the church's mission, working for justice and building community. At Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church PW is active in Circles (small groups of women who meet monthly for Bible Study and fellowship) and events open to all women of the church. 2008 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Celebrated on May 21, 2008, the festivities included: A slideshow presentation about the recent mission trip to Zimbabwe Inspiring entertainment AND a collection of over $1000 for the Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering           A CIRCLE FOR EVERY WOMAN!  JOIN ONE ... Agape Circle:  We are a vibrant group of retired women who meet for Bible study, lunch and fellowship ten months a year.  We meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month September through May at 10:45 a.m. in the Davies Room (or occasionally at a member’s home).  Our two special events are a Christmas lunch in December at a local restaurant and our annual picnic in June.  Providing layettes for Cameron House is our ongoing mission project.  For more information email vhipkiss@comcast.net Esther Circle:  Our newest circle.  It meets the first Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room.  For more information contact the church office at (925) 283-8722. Mary Martha Circle:  Women ages 50’s and up; meets on the 2nd Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in members’ homes; Bible study; bring a sandwich, dessert, tea/coffee provided by hostess.. Monday Circle:  Women ages 75+; meets on the 4th Monday at noon at the church or at members’ homes; devotions and sharing; bring a sandwich, dessert provided by hostess. Ruth Circle:  Women ages 70 on; meets on the 1st Wednesday at 12 noon in members’ homes and at church; Bible study; bring a sandwich. FOR ALL WOMEN OF THE CHURCH - JOIN US!   Bible Study:  A Bible study using the current Horizons Bible Study is held the 4th Wednesday of each month.  August through May (skipping December)  The 2008-2009 Horizons Bible Study is Jubilee! Luke's Gospel for the Poor by Dale Lindsay Morgan.  Copies are available in the church office or at the Horizons website.
