Adults at LOPC

There are many ways for Adults at LOPC  to share fellowhip, service and worship. The mission trip to McComb, Mississippi, shown in the picture above, is one way. The Ministries listed here and in the column to the left are other ways:

And the opportunities listed below are but a few:

FISH Groups

FISH groups form extended Christian families within the larger LOPC community. Groups are created around common interests or life stages. Members meet in homes or occasionally places such as theaters, parks, museums, etc. Lasting bonds often are developed through this small, caring, fun and supportive community.

Women’s & Men’s Choirs

Meet for special projects twice a year and rehearse separately from other choirs.  There are approximately 30 singers in each group, and there is assistance in learning music is available online. Women’s & Men’s Bible Study

Study and fellowship every Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Fireside Room. Open to all.

The Fourth Monday Book Group

Join the group from 7:15 to 9 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Since 1996 the group has been reading novels and discussing how Christian faith can relate to the real life dilemmas raised by classic and current novelists.

Quilters

This group meets every Thursday to make quilts for the Bay Area Crisis Nursery. For more information click HERE

Science & Religion Study Group

This group meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:15 p.m. in the Davies Room to encourage each participant to state his or her faith view in this science pervaded culture. (For more information about the Spiritual Formation Ministry click HERE)

Voyagers

Over 450 church members and friends belong to Voyagers and there’s lots of room for new members! The groups are called “ships” with from 20 to 70 members per ship. They meet monthly for fellowship and social and/or service activities. Events are varied, as are interests, ages, and types of service activities.
